here is some materials i had a look at. i can across foam card as one of my materials. using the material foam cat is a very simple material to use to create the house if there was a few bent line they could get cut down straight with the craft knife. putting it together i could use pins and super glue. but the down side is that it could get damaged quick. Also the artist Chrisse mcdonald has created a similar piece out of foam card.

Here is another material i could use to create my final model out of id perspex. I thought this was a great idea due to i want to use illustrations in there and i could place it in there and they will be viable for people to see.

The next material i chose as an idea is mdf. the reason on choosing mdf is that getting it cut will be easy and no problem. All i have to do is give the measurement and nail it together and paint it and put the marking on the doors and windows on. Julian opie uses mdf wood for her piece as well that could be another inspiration. The down side is that it will be very heavy.

Here is another artist who i got really good inspiration from is julian opie. she has created this very simple rectangular box made out of mdf. The one thing i notice about it is that the windows and doors that are on there are very simple and there not to much to it. Notice how she has only used the one color in there with the different shades of the black. Also looking at the materials she has used to create her work he has used wood and paint. also the scale of the work is very big it about the same height as a one and a half meter ruler showing how much passion she puts into her work. i think the scale of my house will be similar.

here is some more simple illustration i found on the net of a DNA structure. the way it has the use of only using 3 colors in there it easy to read the icon because it is design o be readable. I think i will go down this root on my FMP to do my illustration.

Here is the design IBM that paul rand has design. looking how he has used simple illustrations which stand out very well with all the negative space around it. this has inspired me very much using the icons to represent my self.

then it came to this idea of me creating a finger print out of the wire so i can say it represents me and the blood represent blood represents me and ive been living in the house for 18 year. i have thought of placeing that image on the floor of my room so i could palce a spot light uder it so it lightens up and stands out. The design is to represent me in a DNA but indirectly.

with them material i had i came up with this idea it almost looking like a doctor has injected the person with the needle and taking there blood sample from there vain. So i thought to my self i cannot just leave it there i must think of ideas what else i could show it in, in another form.

here i got some more medical objects from my mums work. i got injection tips and other the other part to it. with some food colouring and a thin oxygen tube. i got these materials cause i thought it would be a good i dear as im doing my dna about my self to make somthing to do with blood so i can say that represents me as im making every thing in my room /

here on the internet looking at mark farrows work i can across this album piece of his named spritualized's. looking at this piece i though it was very attractive looking how it linked in to dna with the injection tips on the album cover. looking at blood types and many other thing to do with blood test.

here again in that book he has not used over the top drawing just easy to understand that they are foot prints using to colours only .

here were some of the icons/ flags for different countries they way they have be illustrated well simple not to much to the eye.

Heres a book that i found name visual aid. when looking through this book i found a lot of interesting illustrations and ideas in here. i noticed that the illustrations were not overly done they were very simple illustration almost like car signs on the road. After looking at this book this is when i got a very interesting idea of creating some simple illustration that represent me to do with my dna, for example flags, religious symbols, items that represent you. This gave me the idea of creating a similar design to Damien hirst, with the pharmacy shelf he done. with me putting little illustration symbols about me going around my room walls.

here is a new artists work we when to have a look at. His name is mitchy bwoy. the first thing i notice about his work that he is very urban type artist when the usage of similar colours but using different tone and shades to that colour. i notice with his work that he has done a lot of portrait photos of people and him self in that same almost jig saw effect, he uses a lot of typography. One thing that i have noticed though in his work is the artists that have inspired him. Just from looking at his work i can see that he has been inspired by bahause and Josef Muller brockmann and many other more artist that just from look at at a few of his pieces. Hopefully i could get some kind of inspiration from other artist as well and pick up that idea and get some usage from his work. A lot of his work is to do with shapes and arrows flowing through the back ground.

Heres a poster i found while i was walking, which i found very eye catching when i saw it. It looked very almost like a double helix, going around the girls face with electrical wires showing thats shes in to here technology. also show the items at the bottom. this is a carphone ware house advert. i could see my self doing something like this taking a picture of me and place items going around my face and typography around me in a thin line.

this was one of the first pieces i spotted when i went to the ikon gallery. the octagonal piece was very out standing the way it was made from think car board. notice as well how the card is cut very sharp and smooth, with no indents or marks left on them. here was another idea that inspired me to create the 3d model also i could had had a look at the materials used in there, other than using foam card.

Here were some ideas of the the double helix ideas of illustrating the helix in different styles.

Here when looking at the double helix i was looking to create a stair case shaped like a helix and have illustrations on the side that represents me. go thing that have happened to me in the past and bad thing that have happened to me going down the helix on the side that happened in the past. But my illustrations and 3d modle of the stair chase has changed due to the model making.

then i threaded the metal wire through the plastic tube and curled them around a rod and they can out twisted like the double helix. i created two so that when you put it together it looks like a helix. after the feed night i lost my inspiration of doing this and started on make a 3d model.

Also from my mums work i got tubes which are used for surgery for suction for blood and also these tubes are used for oxygen masks or water drips.

Here i got some proper medical wires from my mums works which are used for injections which are then cut down to make them.

Here was some ideas that i had in my mind at first of creating the double helix. But i got a change of mind when i got inspired by some other work. Here i was think if ideas and materials to use to create the double helix by put a metal wire through a plastic tube and bending it and here was some of the sketchs.

Here i done a quick brain storm on what my back ground is and thing that represent me such as religion, and to syle of clothing.

Here is a side sketch from the right hand side of the house. This is showing were all the different hight and angles are going to be. This si also showing were all the doors and windows are going to be. Also the cross hatching is shoing there a slope there going downwards.

Here is a sketch of my house from the back view. It show that the house has two levels going down where the slops are. also it shows the positioning of the windows and the gap distances around the side.

Here is the a sketch of the front of my house. its showing the hight of the house and the width of it, you can get a brief idea of what its looks like. It also shows the positioning of were the doors and windows are. the cross hatch section is the slope on top of the window.

Here is the a of the house, but this is show the top floor lay out. this is showing all the rooms and were all the windows and doors are placed. Aslo this is show the outer shape of the house to see if there is any changes or little areas which may come out abit.

Damien Hirst

This is a picture of Damien Hirst's project which is based on a pharmacy theme. This picture represents a real pharmacy with all the drugs and cabinets that contain packages of drugs and bottles. There are 4 bottles on the counter (only showing 3) but each represent earth, air, fire and water.

Medicine - Hirst identifies his cabinets with people. In other words, he compares the re-arranged drugs on the shelf as human internal organs, in which he is relating to that each drug acts as a organ which has its own objectives.

Cabinets - The cabinets are just simple white shelves, which have been re-arranged with empty bottles and drugs packages. Hirst's states that he doesn't mind the exact order changes but does emphasise that it is important to keep a colour balance.

In my project i decided to create a 3d model of my house to show that i have lived there for the passed 18 years. this is basically part of my DNA. in my model i have decide to create little illustration in my room representing my self, such as looking at my background, intrestes and many more thing. this a was a small scale of how my house is going to look like out of perspex glass. the reason for choosing perspex is that it is clear and every one can see every room and see how to get towards my room. Also the illustration have to be visible.
